I tried adding this to my original intro post but I couldn't locate it. Anyways, my principal off-road excursions with my FJZ80 will be for the quail hunting I do in northern Baja. Per my intro, I elected to stay with stock size tires and OEM shocks/springs to see how the truck handled the Baja terrain as I also drive it on the streets the majority of the time.
Overall I am very pleased with how it performed; the only issue I had was that the spare tire scraped the dirt several times if I crossed a small gulley on the uphill side. In the future I will throw the spare on top of the rack I bought from Jason but I was lazy and didn't get to it this trip.
The attached photo shows the beauty of northern Baja after some winter rains, it doesn't give a good representation of the washboard roads or other off-road conditions we encounter. I've been hunting the same areas for 20+ years and this past weekend was as beautiful as I've ever seen it. The quail are also very smart this time in the season so they won but at least we got enough for a great lunch in the field.
