Well, he was rescued from the pound over a year ago -

He was always with me herding cows - even though he had no clue how to herd - he always tried -

Can not write more -

But I put him down this morning - he was really sick -

Dang, sorry to hear it, Jeff. I was afraid I was going to be forced into the same position yesterday. Go pet Hoss......

Damn - sorry to hear that. My wife and I always seem to rescue the dogs that no one else wants. They are either sick, old, or sick and old - sometimes we don't know they are sick until we get them home.

It is never easy putting a dog down - but I'm sure he was happy for the time you gave him.

Sorry to hear. Good looking pooch.

Congrats for adopting him, sorry about your loss.

Not that it makes it any easier but you gave him a very happy 1 year extension of his life.

I was pretty messed up a few weeks ago with two of mine and they did not die but it still makes you sick.

sucks brother. i am in a similar position, one of my dogs (he's almost 14) has all but quit eating and i dont think it will be long before we have to make that same decision. I feel your pain. its tough as hell

Thanks...Chad I got Hoss right by my side...he understands...I am okay now...just could not stand to see him suffer...

Thanks all -

He's very lucky you rescued him, and lucky again you didn't let him suffer. Still sucks for you, sorry.

so sorry to hear. he was a beautiful boy. good on you for adopting

:frown: Sorry for the loss..What a handsome face.

That sucks. Sorry for your loss. :frown:

sorry to hear. glad you gave him love, and kept his suffering to a minimum.

took my latest rescue in to meet the vet & found he has a very low heartbeat: should have bloodwork results back sometime today. :paws crossed:

Thanks for all the thoughts - Spud is resting here on the Navajo Rez - and Hoss is missing his ole buddy - but loving the 100% attention!

Deep sympathies go out to you and family. Give thanks for the time you had together.
