Good evening guys and gals. Very first post here. But having cross shopped a GX470 and the 100 series LX/LC. I am still torn. Where I live I have no access to really drive either one for a test drive sort of to speak within a reasonable distance. I have found enough GX470's for relatively cheap a 2004 all Lexus serviced 180k miles for 6500 in excellent shape and a 1999 LX470 with 150k miles in incredible shape for $8500. The LX has new front brakes and rotors. Rear brakes and calipers, battery, valve cover gasket, parking brake and timing belt and pump done at 135k. Under carriage is probably cleaner than a new car. The interior is impeccable. Couple small flaws on exterior I would not lose 10 minutes of sleep over. I am not new to Toyota Lexus currently owning a 08 Rav4 that is a turd 4 banger and a 12 ISF and having owned a 2000 GS400 for us 01 IS300 and a 97' 4 Runner. I am newer to the truck side as I know enough about prices of Rav4's and ISF's since they are newer vehicles. Is this a good price? I am refraining from pictures since I have had people scoop up vehicles on me in the past and have learned my lesson :). Thanks for any help. I keep seeing that the LX is just built like a piece of granite while the GX is more nimble and pepper since it is lighter. Not sure if MPG is that big of a deal because my Rav4 gets s***ty mileage with the 4 speed auto in it anyhow. Thoughts opinions folks. Thanks in advance.

If I had an LX pop up like the one you described in the south, I’d probably get a PPI done on it asap and pick it up if it passes the inspection. Being from North Dakota, if it’s as rust free as possible, get an inspection tomorrow and get that truck. That price seems to me to be pretty damn good.

I am thinking of that. The underbody is just that damn clean as well.

I don't like to try and low ball people but I thought of asking him if he was firm on price. But I don't want to push my luck however.

I'm the same way, but I will always take cash and offer $500-$1000 less at time of sale. If he balks and says no, I'd pay the full price.
