I purchased the Alpine INE-W940 for my land cruiser.

Does anyone know what wiring harness I need to use to connect from LC to Alpine?

Where to buy?

Crutchfield.com is a great source for factory to aftermarket wire adapters and install hardware for head units and speakers.

Your Land Cruiser's wiring is set up for both amplified head units and non-amplified head units.

If you plan to use the Alpine's internal amplifier, you'll need the adaptor harness that connects up to the two gray plugs in the dash. You'll also need to disconnect the factory amplifier.

Here's a simplified drawing of the system:

Landcrshr- I am figuring on removing amp all together

Removing oem radio and amp.

Using just alpine unit, with factory speakers and 2 pioneer replacements in front doors.

OK
You don't need to physically remove the amp if you don't want to, just unplug it, otherwise it will conflict with the new head unit since they are both wired to the speakers.

Just wanted to provide the diagram to make that clear since there is always a lot of confusion over this.

So which adapter do I need? Suggestion on where to buy?

Is the adapter just a generic adapter that fits Toyota?

Metra is the popular brand of wiring adaptors.

Give Crutchfield a call, they'll help you find the right one.
