yes, it does have a little cover bolted to the back. i believe that's what you're referring to.

i priced it this low because of the broken ear tab and because there's no fairlead, but still will make somebody one heck of a cool winch.
 
I'd consider buying just the PTO gearbox (yours with the rear output...)

ok, but just to be clear, it does not have the rear output. it has what i believe is the removable plate where you can bolt up the rear output doohickey. if orangefj45 wants the rest and you want the gearbox that can work. i don't know what each part would be worth, though. any ideas??? orange??

also, better give me a chance to check the pto box and make sure the removable plate is actually there.
 
I'd want to verify that that is in fact a rear output port... anyone know? Also will the front output flange work in the back?

Orange: would you want the lever or do you have that (I could fab up something for my needs).

woytovich, i honestly don't know about the rear output, but will try to find out.
 
here's a pic of the rear output from sor's website. looks like it would bolt up, but the application says :

that rear output bolts on the back of the earlier case, not the split case. the rear output for the split case looks the same as the front output and is part of the pto box that bolts on the side of the case, not the rear. i believe my pto box has both outputs on it. i'll check tomorrow and can post a pic.

$700 for the winch with the cracked foot is a little too steep for me. i paid $175 for my pto box.......
 
Since we are tossing around numbers... and since you JUST offered the gear box and shifter for $125 and things have changed since then I'll do $175 for the PTO gearbox and shifter shipped to 11731...

Do you know if the front and rear PTO gear box outputs are interchangeable? Could I swap this front output to the rear?
 
Hoping you wait for Orange before you bail on an in progress deal....
