Hi All,

Just got the Nitto Terra Grappler 305/70-16s on my LC and no one at discount tire knows what PSI to pressurize these puppies at?

Currently running 35 PSI and I'd like to know what others are pressurizing theirs at for the road?

Thanks

So you bought these from a shop that has no idea what psi to run them at? Gee, I need to find a place like that near me I suppose.

Gee I had one place to buy them at?

I sorry that I even posted now!

Oh quit the crying. It's just I get amazed at how folks buy something like this from a place where the shop is no help.

What is the max psi on them?

Assuming it's 50 or less, start at about 40 and adjust for how you feel comfort wise.

Hey Stress Puppy!

What PSI do you run your Nitto Terra Grappler's at on the street?

According to the Nitto website, the 305/70x16 is rated for load range D with a max of 65psi. I would agree with Junk, probably start at around 40psi and adjust up or down from there.

You could just send him a PM and you have another post going about the psi in your tires. Only saying this because based on two threads for the same thing.

Can't you just make a chalk strip across your tires and drive on pavement? If the chalk wears off evenly you are good to go. Center wears faster too much pressure. Sides wear off quicker than the center and you have too little pressure. I used to play with this a lot. Then I just settled on 35 because it is a nice number and it rides nice there.

Well since others have tried this tire I was just looking for a starting PSI.

Nittos web site sates 65 PSI and I'm surely not going to start there and work my way down when I can (maybe not) ask a simple question on this forum.

Who else is running those tires? I've been sort of curious about them but I'm more curious about the mud grappler but I only see 38" available now. My 80 isn't that big. I don't think I could buy them as I've never seen them and we have no dealers that stock them in Idaho.

I put them on last week, in 295-75-16. So far they are smooth, quiet and look good. With only a couple of hundred miles it's hard to how they will last! Running 30 PSI, looks good but haven't found time to chalk them yet. Got them at Discount Tire.

Sorry, been away from the 'puter for a couple of days.........

I am running mine at 55, but that is what the shop that installed them set them to. I haven't experimented yet to find the best pressure.

I think I will try the chalk thing today. 55 is ok, but a bit jarring. I'll let you know. Anyone else doing the chalk thing, please post results.
