The change would be implemented at the factory. The question here is are the newer ones (coming after the VIN listed) corrected with the same procedure or did they change the actual manufacturing process to stop the hood from looking like it is going to fly away?![]()
Not what I asked. My question is:The change would be implemented at the factory.
I would expect that the manufacturing process is modified to implement a variation of the manual fix. Adding additional NVH Dampener/Seam Sealer is pretty standard for automotive manufacturing. Not what I asked. My question is:
At the factory, are they using the same solution proposed in the bulletin or changing the hood manufacturing so that it does not flutter like crazy without any of the add-ons foam bricks. If it is the latter, the bulletin seems to be a band-aid more prone to failure. In any event it is just one more example of the risks of buying a first, or second-year new model.

not sure, but my GX is at the dealership now getting this done. I'll report back. now, if they can get the roof rack noise to go away...should this apply to the LC250? that hood flutters as well
update? thanks!not sure, but my GX is at the dealership now getting this done. I'll report back. now, if they can get the roof rack noise to go away...
The dealership did their thing and no more hood flutter! I also removed the roof rack over the weekend and I am liking my car more than before. It has taken me 15K miles to get there... Next will be to find some crossbars to take the place of the factory rack. I need them for my Thule box.update? thanks!
