I replaced my coil packs as part of preventive maintenance, as I could not tell from records if they had ever been done. Changed spark plugs as well. My rig has ~160k miles.

The good news:
I bought my replacement OE Toyota packs on ebay, around $39 each shipped. The less than good news (I guess): my original coils look GREAT. Oh well, at least I have piece of mind and new plugs.

So, I am keeping two of the old coils as back ups.

For the remaining 6, I will ship one each to a fellow Mudder who might want a back up coil. OE part number on these Toyota-Denso units is 90919-02230.

The first 6 guys to reply and PM me with their name and address will get a free one. I will try to post again when I am out of them. I will ship on my dime for FREE, just as a way of paying it forward on this great website full of helpful info. That is my public service announcement...

EDIT: All gone...

Dog, PM outbound just now.

Thanks

Steve

I just had one go out on me. Would love one or two. Thanks

As of now, I think they are all spoken for. Everyone above and those that PM'ed should be getting one. Should ship out next week sometime, via USPS.

Thanks Dog!!! Got my spare. Now I'm ready just in case.

Mine came too. As I pm'd you...you get to Boise, I buy your beverage(s). ;)

I really should how to install them as well.
1. Disconnect connector.

2. Remove 6mm bolt holding coil pack in place with a 10mm tool of some sort.

3. Pull coil pack from valve cover.
