Proper Key Fob for an RS3000

Hi Everyone,

I've been troubleshooting this since I bought my 97 CE a few months ago. It did not come with a key fob. I confirmed that I do have the RS3000 (control unit under driver seat) and I was able to clear all remotes and get the beep/light flash when doing so. I have not, however, been able to program either of the replacement remotes I purchased.

The Toyota branded one says Part No 08191-00860
FCC ID BAB237131-013

The Aftermarket one comes from this ebay seller and claims to be
RS3000 - BAB237131-022

New Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob For RS3000 - BAB237131-022

SO - since neither of these worked (fresh batteries and all) are there any other models of key Fobs I should try?

I have never gotten any aftermarket remotes to work whether -013 or -022. Only the original remote works (barely).

i actually just purchased the aftermarket one from the same seller, im about to return it, i couldnt get it to pair w my 97 Anv ed. I was going to get one from the toyota dealership, but did you also go that route and not have it work?

FWIW

The back of mine has "FCCID: SRW-KRVAR001" molded into it. And my truck is a '97 LX (I don't know if that matters)

I didn't get another dealer FOB because I already have one that works. I was looking for a cheap spare.

Tonight I tried the SRW-KRVAR001 with no luck. 3 Fobs down... any more y'all recommend I try?

So far I have tried:

SRW-KRVAR001
BAB237131-022
BAB237131-013

I push/hold the green button on the rs3000 unit,
after 3 seconds the red light on the dash turns on solid for 3 seconds
then the red light flashes for 5.

I have tried pressing the key fob button during the solid and during the flashing, and have done it with/without the green button pushed simultaneously.

What am I missing?

Same experience I had. My original would still program fine, but it is beat and has no range even after the antenna enhancement.

I have two Remocon units RMC-105. Both work nice with our 80 and with the extended wire up to the headrest area can easily lock/unlock from 100' or more away. This with the factory rs3000 system on our 97.

The Remocon is listed as a replacement for BAB237131-022, which is one of the replacements I've tried with no luck Man, I'm about stumped!

The interesting thing about the Remocon is that it is programmable and can learn from your old remote. It may be worth a try if your old remote works.

The Remocon from Ebay Worked like a champ on my 96 with RS3000.

Till I decided that system is garbage and upgraded to a Viper.
Even after you polish a turd you still have a piece of.....oh nvrmind.
