Will a chevy 203 work? I've seen a couple in the local Pick n Pull. I'm in CA and can chase parts if you need one. May save time.

OBTW Nice choice of power plants. I'm dropping a 92 5.0 HO with an NP 435 to a TLC 3 speed T-case into my 71 FJ40. Sticking with the EFI which is Mass Air.

Mass air is the best setup.

I do have an answer now. Basically I need to take a Chevy 203 (got one coming) and redrill the input for the big 6 ford pattern and swap out the 23 spline chevy input for the 31 spline ford input.

Dam this is getting harder than I wanted it to.

so in the end I will have a spare ford 203 case sitting around..

Actually I'll probably have two..

Not to hijack your motor build up, but thought I would let you know my MS on the 2F passed emissions easily. The guy was actually thorough and even got down underneath to check the cat. A few vacuum lines, a plumbed EGR, and an air pump were all that I needed. The results were actually cleaner for HC and CO% than I had in previous years with the carb. Limits for HC for '87 are 120 at idle and 2500 rpm, and CO% is 1.20 for both speeds. I had below 17 and 33 for HC and 0.05 and 0.00 CO% respectively.

Are you sure it's easier to make your adapters than find an air pump and an EGR?:grinpimp:

Shaddup....

:flipoff2:

I believe he did research & everyone said it would work :flipoff2:

He just likes to do things that not many other people have & that tends to cause alot of grief

Corey, Runberg just likes to start crap :flipoff2:

I did actually get some interesting info..

Supposedly, the dodge and chevy 203's used the same rear case. (PS drop)

AND, the 81 to 87 dodge 203's happen to have the same front bolt pattern as the ford...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
I think I can actually use a 81 to 87 Dodge 203 case to make this work..

Which is easier than drilling new holes in a chevy 203..

So, what is your crwal ratio gonna be with the 203 added to the setup.

lets see...

2.46*2*1.9*3.7=35:1

Course, then you multiply it by 2 due to the torque converter..

soooo 70:1. Perfect for an auto..

Motor Mounts

Hey Mace did or are you using the AA motor mounts? If not where did you source them? I read elsewhere on Mud that the AA mounts are crap.

Making my own similar to the MORE mounts..

Hey slack ass you ever gonna finish this thing? :D

I am stalled until I get the Dodge/chevy 203 case. The ferd one I have won't work with my adapter.

I'll have the new case next weekend.

cool:popcorn:

So ya got any pics for us right now? huh huh nothin?

It don't look much different..

Want pics of the motor on a stand???

:D
