I had this A pillar mount in my 4Runner and am happy to see it works in the 200 even if it’s not made for it.

Sweet!! Which year 4Runner is that mount for? I have been wanting an a-pillar mount that sits lower than replacing the bottom grab handle bolt with a ram ball.I had this A pillar mount in my 4Runner and am happy to see it works in the 200 even if it’s not made for it.

2019
Have had mine mounted to the driver side vent for three years. No issues with the panel gaps. As others have said, annoying that it blocks most of the vent but I can live with that annoyance (especially since I don't live with this as a DD; my wife does!). The only problem I've had is that the right side of the phone cradle cracked a few months ago. I chose not to replace it. I duct taped it (at least I used black so it's not AS noticeable) and ordered RAM mount track + accessories this week to give that set-up a try. I have generally been pretty happy with ProClips as I've owned about 7-8 of them. However, I have installed and been very happy with the Off Roam mounts for my 2019 4Runner and 2022 F-150.Digging up an old thread here…
Can some of you guys who have run these for a while opine with a long term review? Specifically, has it led to any fitment issues over time? Weird panel gapping or squeaks? How about upon removal? I’m concerned that having something wedged between the dash panels could cause issues over time.
Thanks in advance for any input.
I like that the pro clip does not attach to the vent in any way yet partially sits in front to keep the charging phone cool, while enough air passes to reach the driver (beside the one at the door). It is also strong and does not vibrate when you drive. Which one is much better is an interesting debate. If you all want mount in front of AC vent, then this is MUCH better than above:

Phone Mount
I am personally in love with the whole quadlock ecosystem. Wife and I both use them, so we've got their mounts in our vehicles, on our bicycles, and her motorcycle. This mount in our 150-Prado has been there for about 2 years now, the 3M VHB tape they use is pretty much magic.forum.ih8mud.com
BOTH of these vents allow air circulation to BACK of phone to keep phone cool...to prevent overheating esp if sun hits phone.
Nothing vibrate with either option above, even off-roading.I like that the pro clip does not attach to the vent in any way yet partially sits in front to keep the charging phone cool, while enough air passes to reach the driver (beside the one at the door). Well, the pro clip base does not mount to the vent moving parts at all. It clips right below it. I prefer this for longevity of the vent mechanism (the moving vanes). At the same time it cools the phone. It is also a strong base. I think it is MUCH better mechanically than any solution clipping into the vent.Nothing vibrate with either option above, even off-roading.
Pro clip mount blocks air from hitting the back of your phone…the exact area where the battery and processor are (area that gets really warm)! And this is magnified when you are simultaneous charging your phone AND the sun hitting that area!
And this is why i prefer the two options listed above. Simple MagSafe ring magnets…but still allows plenty of air to hit the area where the processor/battery is.
You’ll get used to the gap and it won’t hurt anything. The problem I found with that system is the small strip of adhesive on the vent trim did not like Florida heat. I had the mount come off while driving. Bad prep on my part? Maybe, but I decided to not use it after that.Sorry to necro this thread, but I just installed a Pro Clip mount on my 2021 and I'm a bit concerned about the panel gap (not trying to baby the truck, but it's new-to-me and I'm neurotic).
I am not mechanically inclined enough to remove the panel so I had to do a "brute force" install per the provided instructions. There were some noises that I didn't love, but no noticeable damage to the car or the mount.
Everything is snugly in place, but there is a slight panel gap at the edge of the panel towards the cluster/camera toggle (see picture). It makes sense as the mount has to create space to get its plastic in between the seam.
Should I be concerned about panel damage over the short or long term? I would really like to keep this setup as the mount is well located and it feels incredibly secure. But if it's going to be a headache in the long run I'll pop it off and find another solution.
