Problems copying phone contacts

Hi there

I am facing issues copying the phone contacts to my 2011 phone. When I select " transfer contacts " it starts but then interrupts saying the MSG " contacts could not be copied"

Any issues what can be the problem ? Does it have to do with the # of contacts on the phone ?

You can do it through I-tunes on a PC.
