Hey guys I got my prinsu rack installed today and the shop that generally does all my work for me noted that the rack is slightly off. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Theres a slight bend in where the rack attaches to the body at the front mounting positions on both sides as if the wind deflector was cut a fraction of a hair longer than it should be and its bowing a bit...

If anything, it looks like the wind deflector is a bit too short, and is “pulling” the side rails in.
I’d send the pics to Prinsu…I bet they can get you a properly-sized piece pretty easily.

I have a Prospeed rack which is similar, and I would agree. I think both the bar behind the wind deflector and the first one on top are two short. Are the bars marked for certain locations? Like shorter bars in the rear?

The one on my 200 did the same before I had all bars bolted up. Wind deflector is mounted to a crossmember that’s the same length as all the other crossmembers.

If you look at the way the feet of the rack interface with the roof of the vehicle, they create a slight “positive camber” two the two lengthwise “rails”. As you start bolting the crossmemebers in, they pull that “camber” to neutral. So until you have all the crossmembers in there, there can be a slight outward bowing caused by the feet “pushing” the rail slightly outward.

Ok thank you. I’ll put in the last bar (didn’t install it for safety evac concerns) and see if the bow is fixed.
Thanks for all the replies guys.

Imagine all the guys driving low trim Toyota’s and most jeeps who risk their lives daily wheeling without a sunroof. Do you think they’d appreciate your lack of sympathy?

I think if you’re in that deep you should probably go down with the ship….😮

Yeah. Id like to have a option of all possible exit points. To each their own.

I hear ya man. I just cant quite picture it...Quicksand? Olympic swimming pool filled with concrete mix? I dunno.... seems very James Bondish..... please tell me the scenario. Seriously, I'm curious.

Driving into a pit full of snakes was gonna be my guess. I’d want an escape in that scenario.

Insensitive bunch here. Safety first. That’s what I always say.
