Hey guys new member here. Currently I have a 12 FJ Cruiser but I have a second kid on the way so I have been thinking about getting something a little bigger. I ran across this forum while looking at 4runners and then started looking at gx470s.

I found a 09 gx470 with 46k miles on it. It has NAV and the ML sound in it with the DVD in the head rests. VIN decoder says it has KDSS. Looks to be pretty clean. Carfax shows it was bought and sold in Missouri with only one owner from what I can tell. Service records look a little spotty on carfax and it does not have 3rd row seats.

Dealer is asking 26K. Does that seem like a fair price for low milage?

its a bit high....

but in its defense its the last year and sounds like it has every option available ... not too many have the dvd head rest ...

pretty low miles

-i wouldnt worry about the 3rd row its pretty much useless ... unless your 3yo or under

-but that being said you can save about 10k buying one with around 100k miles that has had the expensive 90k mile service and it will be just as good mechanically speaking

-KDSS is nice for driving and offroad ... but limits you some upgrades if you plan to go offroad like no one makes slider of kdss yet (we're working on it ) ...
and you also cant upgrade your lower control arms but not that you really need them with kdss
imo kdss isnt that important or worth having

-and of course there is the "Navi" ... Meh... not so good and your pretty much stuck with the system ... bc half of your ac controls are in the display ... If your worried about those things your better off finding one with out navi and upgrading to an after market unit

~my verdict if you plan on going offroading and like to modify for vehicle ... save the money on the one you are looking at put it into a higher mileage slightly less options GX

The price seems pretty close to the going rate to me. I really like kdss as it makes a night and day difference when on road.

Thanks for the input. I've been watching it for about 3 weeks hoping someone would buy it. Its about 2 hrs away from me. I have a few mods on my FJ like a lift, sliders and a snorkel, but honestly it doesn't get off road very much so that aspect is not that important. I would still like a capable vehicle that will get me where I want to go though.

My FJ is not a daily driver either so with 46k miles it might take 4-5 years to make it to the 90k service. What do you think would be a good starting price on it?

Also, those of you who came from an FJ Cruiser, how does the power of the gx compare. Just looking at specs its only 3 more hp and 52 ft-lbs of torque than my FJ.

Don't have FJ, but the V8 on GX has instant torque low in the rev range. It will really wake up and growl when you want it to, but nice and quiet for putting around.

I just picked up a 111K mile '05 GX for about $15k (had all services including 90K timing belt on the dot). Like others have said, '05 would be a lot better of a price, but if you want something a bit newer and have cash, it's basically the same thing. For year and mileage I think the asking price is a bit high but still reasonable.

A year and a half ago I bought a gx with the same load out and similar mileage for 23k or 24k.

The gx has respectable power, even to me and I drive a high hp diesel.
