I think I'm getting too old to remember them all. but a sampling would be...

1st car: 1959 Chevy Impala - fire engine red, 283ci a 3-speed manual with a non-synchro first gear
1st (and slowest) truck: 1962 VW microbus (only 36 horsepower, but valiantly made it to the top of Pike's Peak)
Model year with most vehicles: 1965 -- Ford Mustang, Buick Riviera, Plymouth Sport Fury, Dodge window van, Ford F100 pickup
Biggest car: 1969 Chevy Caprice station wagon (could lay down a 4x8' sheet of plywood and shut the tailgate with room to spare)
Most number of Toyotas in the driveway (with my name on the title) at one time: 2013 Prius v5 wagon, 2008 4Runner Sport, 2010 CamryXLE, 2002 MR2 Spyder
Contrasting vehicle reliability: 2002 4Runner vice 1971 Fiat 124 Spyder
Last car purchased - the Prius, and last truck purchased - the 2000 LX470

And @re_guderian - 4 mini-vans: a Dodge Grand Caravan, a Plymouth Caravan, A Ford Windstar, and a Mercury Villager. There was also a Dodge Colt Vista wagon, not sure if that counts for a 5th or not.

1986 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight
1982 Pontiac Parisianne
1975 Chevrolet K5 Blazer
1991 Toyota Xtra-Cab
1990 Mazda MPV 4wd 5 spd (badass mini-van)
1990 Daihatsu Charade
1993 Toyota Corolla
1989 Mitsubishi Montero
2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
1998 Toyota Land Cruiser (current)

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee lifted 33s
2001 Jeep Wrangler lifted 35s
1997 Lexus LX450 33s
2001 Subaru Legacy GT limited
2003 Lexus RX300
2005 Lexus LX470 lifted'ish 34.5s

I have a thing for older, extremely well maintained cars with lower mileage.

Would prefer to never own anything other than a Yota / Lexus for the rest of my days.

Looking back I must have spent a ton of money cumulatively over the years but really have great memories with each one...well, almost each one.

I will surely have the strangest looking list to many of you across the pond! Oh, and rarely if ever does a European mention or even know the exact model year of their car, that's something you guys do. :)
  1. VW Golf mk2 (first car, and I totalled it)
  2. Renault 5 (I think you guys across the pond know it as "Le Car")
  3. VW Polo
  4. Smart ForTwo (great concept, poor execution)
  5. Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon (Alfa's are an experience all car lovers must have once)
  6. BMW 330XI Touring (fantastic car)
  7. VW Golf mk4 2.3 V5 (s***ty car)
  8. Audi A4 Avant Quattro 2.5TDI (this was a favorite, used while in the Alps)
  9. VW Golf GTI mk5 (fantastic! Even Jeremy Clarkson approves!)
  10. BMW 540 Touring (The ultimate Autobahn cruiser)
  11. BMW 325XI Touring (not as good as the 3.0)
  12. Audi A4 Avant Quattro 3.0TDI (great, yet boring)
  13. Toyota Landcruiser (100-series, the spark was there)
  14. Subaru Outback H6 3.0 (very good and very boring)
  15. VW Golf GTI mk5 (yes, again)
  16. BMW X5 3.0 (I went for reliable here, the V8's are not great)
  17. Audi A3 Sportback Quattro 2.0TDI (Grips the road like nothing else)
  18. VW Golf mk5 1.4 TFSI
  19. Tesla Model S 85 (Game Changer, still a HUGE fan and have ordered Model3)
  20. Landcruiser (Current car, impulse buy)
Not included, my wife's (company) rides:
  1. Toyota Prius
  2. Volvo V40 (The only great car in her list....)
  3. Volvo V50
  4. VW Golf mk4 1.9TDI

My first love...

The pic was my first time wheeling it. It's hard to see, but it's high centered on a rock - even in extended mode (the air suspension will raise another inch or two from off-road height, if it senses it has been high centered). A deer decided to say hi at 60 mph, and I had to total it.

Sorry Brits, on the whole, the LX is a much more capable and refined truck. No regrets in picking the LX, but damn I miss a few things from the LR3. Namely: The enormity of cargo space (seriously, I slept three people in the back), the air suspension was nice for unloading/loading, and not having to rely on a stupid infotainment system to change the A/C. I want to shake the person who thought that was a good idea.
