Gearing up for the 4,400 mile trek west for 100s in the hills. On the docket for next weekend is a bearing repack, along with replacing all pads, and my rear rotors.

I thought that while I'm at it, i could do a CV swap, and keep current for spares.

Any thoughts from the gang on this step as a preventative measure? Prior owner rebooted about 40k ago... Truck has 140k on it now. Should I wait til 170k re-pack?

Thanks in advance!

I'd say if it was rebooted 40,000 miles ago and you're not leaking, you're good-to-go. I wouldn't touch them.
