I recently acquired an HDJ 100 - 1 HD - FTE - 2004 model, 5 spd automatic gearbox.
557.000 km on the clock - runs, drives and shifts smoothly
despite needing some love for some electrical stuff and maintenance
For me this is a dream coming true. I still just sit in front of this vehicule to just watch it and I never dreamed of driving such a beautiful baby.
I donāt know any past maintenance and I am looking forward to do everything. I do not work on my car, Iām actually a total newbie to mecanics and unfortunately not smart enough to catch up.
For now Iāve changed :
- oil and oil filter
- Transmission fluid, no flush (no machines here) and still pending to change the oil strainer (crepine in French)
- Radiator fixed by an artist and still pending to receive OEM antifreeze, even if in my market most use distilled water and here there is warm climate all year long. Probably will change the radiator soon.
- Greased all the axles and greasing points as I hear a Clunk when going from P to R or D. Didnāt fixed it completely but Iāll have a mechanic take care of it.
What I am looking for to fix is :
* Suspension needs to be assessed and probably replaced.
* New headlights or restore the ones I have.
* Tilt and telescopic steering needs to be fixed (tilt doesnāt work anymore)
* Electric mirrors to folding system.
* Ignition key needs to be hold and doesnāt turn on the car just by switching.
* Iāve some water leak somewhere as I can smell a bad smell and believe there is water getting in and staying somewhere
* Some superficial rust to me adressed
And many more things and goodies I hope to do to it once the mechanical stuff is figured out
The car had installed a big screen (iPad style) that makes it amazing. Probably will upgrade the sound system is the future as I love music
