About to do 100 miles 3 days in Moab, (white rim road )
I usually take my 80 series wheeling , as my FJ is more of the daily , but it’s mildly built with new suspension, tires , sliders and bumper with 9500lb Ironman winch.
Curious what you FJ guys think I should bring as far as trail spares or tools. I’m thinking - spare CV , fuses , tools (35mm socket for CV) and maybe a spare ignition coil. With a pretty abundant tool kit that I put together for my old 80 series… but the FJ I have never had to work on much so it would be nice to plan ahead in the event I need to fix something or have a trail spare… also - 2007 154k miles

I think you’ll be fine. My manual trans 07 with around 240,000 did the White Rim Trail last year, June. My son and daughter in law wanted to attempt to do it in one day and asked me if I’d be the chase vehicle. They finished in 14 hours. My advice would be to be careful on the steep climbs, some don’t break over on the same line.

Sweet !! Did you enjoy it ?! Is there some fun wheeling out there or mild for the most part ?

Mild enough that you get to take in more of the ever changing views. Also a few challenges to keep you on your toes. When we did this they were always way ahead of me, out of sight for the most part so I was solo except when they would stop and I’d catch up for their break. We stayed in touch with walkie talkies. And yes, I need another windshield.

Oh sweet! Well looks like I can chill on the spare parts list I guess then 😂 this is a Last minute trip and haven’t done much research!

Trip update.

White rim , 100 miles 3 days 800 mile trip total. Very very mellow offroading . Honestly a Subaru could have done it .
Still fun,
Didn’t have time to wheel anywhere cool and more difficult like I was planning but the trip itself was awesome , FJ did great , however at the last 30 miles of the journey I tripped code P0012 so unfortunately gonna have to dig into that.. code for retarded timing , thinking it’s the. VVT solenoid ?
