Pre-Purchase inspection List for 2000-2003 LX/LC 100 series. (1 Viewer)

Dear all,
I am looking for your wisdom here. I am about to go check out a 2001 LX 470, and a few other LX/LC units in the 2000-2003 range. It will be a daily driver in the Mountains/country with lots of off road and gravel with many wash outs and rutted roads. If you can tell me what to look for so I know the total cost and expected repairs as well as any links to builds that show how to fix/replace/upgrade I would greatly appreciate it.

Hopefully we can make a sticky with Pre-Purchase Inspection lists for each series.
I have already downloaded the LX470 CPO inspection sheets. And I know from Experience with CPO Lexus, that even a master mechanic can miss some things with this list.

So far I have gotten this on another post:
Car Fax or Auto Check Vehicle History
Maintinance records/receipts
AHC Works? (expensive repair) or plan to replace with LC OEM or OME
Sunroof Works? (expensive repair)
Steering rack leak? How bad?
Exhaust manifold leak on cold start?
Transfer case lever moves freely/easily
All gauges/lights/buttons/switches/levers work as they’re supposed to?
Timing belt and water pump done on schedule? (not past due)
Any hack job electronics (Stereo/Alarm/etc.)
(2) Master Keys? (at the very least 1 master key)
Body damage (Check under bumpers too)?
Rust (underbody/engine bay/lift gate/rocker panels/around windows )?
Evidence of paint work/body work?
Factory marked glass? SN etched?
Evidence of fluid leaks?
Evidence of interior water leaks?
Excessive play in the steering?
Any strange sounds or smells?

@ton504 unfortunately I don't have an unlimited amount of time to use search and/or fix things, and it seems there is no single place to look up what needs to be checked. Christos list is not comprehensive by any means. And if you look at the shear number of AHC threads started in the last two weeks, obviously not one thread comes close to answering all the questions about it in such a way as the search feature alleviated the need for new threads.
After 88 views, it means there are people looking at this thread hoping the information is there, it also means guys like you are not interested in it since you already have a rig and are focused on the problems you already bought as opposed to finding them and using for negotiations up front. I appreciate the sentiment. My goal is to help newbies, or guys like me getting back into it after 10 years.
