Pre order guide LX600

Long time lurker here. Have driven LCs and Prados overseas for years.

Wanted a 200 and as usual I waited and vacillated to the point where the prices spiked versus what you could get a new one for a year ago or so.

So I’ve been eagerly awaiting the LX600 here once we knew we weren’t going to get the LC.

I’m a little confused about the pre order guide.

It seems like the ultra luxury version is a weird offering for the US. The right rear ottoman style seat seems to be more of an OUS feature.

Whereas there’s definitely an overlanding or wannabe overlanding trend in the US. So a “off road” variant would be more interesting here. Obviously the selling price and margin of the ultra luxury version may make it interesting to the bottomline.

Also it seems like some aspects of the JDM off road variant are making it here with the available 18” in concert with the appearance package. Without the lockers though.

But this is available on the mid to high spec versions. Which again is odd. Which variant would most likely a buyer want or need 18”?

I would like a JDM off road version.

In absence of that an F sport with AHC, no 7 passenger capability, and 18”s or aftermarket 18”s with Duratracks?

The USA has never gotten a “poverty pack” Lexus in any model because they don’t exist. The whole point of the Lexus brand is upscale luxury.

Looking at the brochure looks like you can get an appearance package with all the chrome replaced with black chrome and 18” rims.

Could it look like this???

According to the brochure it’s an option that can be had on the premium and luxury models 🤷🏻‍♂️ But who knows until we see it in person

Very interesting that AHC is no longer standard. Very surprised that there are so many variations within the LX. Also looking forward to hearing the new
Mark Levinson29 25-speaker, 2,400-watt Reference Surround Sound.

Anybody know the difference between AVS on the premium/luxury and the “F SPORT–tuned suspension” on the f sport handling trim?

So if you want a third row you don’t get a digital rear view mirror. A highlander has that what gives?

So AHC is only on the Ultra Luxury trim… interesting.

Looks like it’s available as an option on the F Sport and Luxury.

Yeah, I saw that too… glad they went that route.

Yet AVS is standard on all models above the base (AVS being a feature which has been achieved with the AHC hydraulics in the 100 and 200). I wonder if they are scoping two different approaches to AVS in the same chassis (not sure that's happened on a Lexus model) or if all models with have the hydraulics of AHC with only certain trims/optioned models with the variable height functionality.

I'd be surprised if they are doing 3 completely different suspension systems on the LX - conventional, semi-active and then hydraulic. Seems more likely they'd have a conventional (LX) and then hydraulic (LX Premium and above) with some trims disabling height control. Either way seems weird for such a low production model. I'm excited to see how that going to be!

What are you guys hearing on timeline?
