Prado - 4R, tomayto - tomahto.
The main difference between the GX and Prado's is the vinyl interiors and smaller engines (read 4R).
That being said, if they brought the Prado over, it would probably in direct competition with the 4R.

The speculation is that the same platform that the GX is on will spawn a new Land Cruiser Prado for the US [and assumingly ROW will have the same truck albeit with different engine options] that will inherit the Land Cruiser badge in Spring of 2024. Based on what the new GX looks like, consider me interested as long as they don't take the piss with styling. The Lexus looks really good, I'm hoping the Toyota is even more understated.

Anecdotally my guy text me and said the new LC looks like the 24 GX. So I take that to mean similar dimensions etc I was thinking maybe it would be smaller but now I’m really confused as this would surely cannibalize the 4R?

My assumption is the 4Runner will remain the same size or go back to being smaller so it doesn't directly compete with the LC. From my perspective the 1st gen was the best followed by the 3rd gen, so maybe something more like that?

My guess is the Land Cruiser in the US will only come up engined with the TTV6 and certain other goodies that will separate it from 4R and slot it between 4R and Sequoia

If the 4runner becomes based on the tacoma I presume we can expect those to be the dimensions, making it slightly smaller.

yeah, I’m betting it gets the same ttv6 that GX has… some are saying the hybrid i4t but I don’t see that happening… that engine is for the 4runner.
