hi guys good day!

First off all im new in this 4x4 world and bought a landcruiser prado lj78 with 2LTE engine im from the Philippines, and i must admit that there is a monstrous traffic here especially in manila and also summer is coming and the weather is getting hot, i changed my water pump Installed 82• thermostat because when i had it checked it ran without thermostat and i read articles that it is better to have this thermostat and i also had my radiator cleaned and is it normal that my temperature needle sits below the middle of the temperature guage? I still have my egr ang planning to remove it i browsed on one thread here on how to improve the 2LTE are there plenty of 2LTE users here? That could give me some tips and advises especially to this very hot weather condition on how to lower the heat of my 2LTE

Cheers! Thanks guys!

Welcome, not a 2LTE guy but the factory water temp gauges are rather coarse in their readings, I would recommend a good aftermarket temperature gauge and get some real temperature readings.

An 82C thermostat will keep the temperature at about 1/4 on the factory gauge. Your coolant is 100C when your factory gauge reads 1/2. If you go over this regularly, you do run the risk of eventually cracking the head. This usually only happens when running highway speeds up long hills in hot weather. Most important thing for you is to make sure the viscous clutch fan is working well. This is very important and will help keep things cool.
