I just fitted a Warn 9000i into my ARB. I asked and asked, almost everyone I talked to said that it wouldn't fit. It fit great. I would take careful measurements before purchasing one.

Can you show us some pictures to see how the fitment goes? It is great to show us what you have accomplished since almost everyone you talked to said it won't fit. Have you done any modifications to make it fit?

x2

I have read and I have posted that a XD9000i will NOT fit in an 80 series ARB bumper (without modification) so this would certainly be new news and worthy of a new thread WITH pictures :D

To the OP: I have read/heard that the Warn Powerplant will NOT fit in the ARB on an 80 series but if MGH2 could get a XD9000i to fit, maybe you can get a Warn Powerplant to fit :meh:

The pics of the mount were never posted as far as I can see. Any chance it could still be posted?

I fit mine in, had to take a running start from a hundred yards.
Seriously though I had to do slight modifications. I made a plate to mount it on, the plate goes betwen the frame rails and bolts right on top the frame rails using the bolts that bolt the arb to the frame then drilled and tapped holes for those tiny little screws that connect the winch to the plate. The next step some will cringe at :crybaby: but I had to cut the arb alittle to the left side so that the winch would be centered on the fairlead, also the lever to switch from compressor to winch was hitting there. I might trim a little more because my hand is a little tight getting in there. I'll try and get some pics posted this weekend.
Another issue people said I would have was overheating because of blocking the radiator, no problems. Been driving it during the heatwaves and nothing out of the norm.

I have a Warn 12000 in my ARB but not sure the difference in a Powerplant.

here what the power plant looks like...

I do not see why that wouldn't mount in an ARB. That looks like that same size as mine except the top of it which I do not have. I would think it may block the air flow somewhat but maybe far enough in front of the grill it may not matter. If you can find a dimensional drawing that I can use I can do some measurements on my exisiting one and let you know what I find.

Here you go..

I had an 8274-50 in my ARB but saw my temps rising on long highway hill climbs to around 215 per scanguageII. my 96 had a new aftermarket radiator, landtank's fan clutch mod. I also have 2 7" HIDs mounted on the tabs on the ARB. I was wondering if the top of the winch/light combo was blocking too much airflow. I came across a used m12000 that I recently rebuilt and fit in there which doesn't block any air. Haven't been able to test change in temps yet, though, due to winter temps outside, but I hope that more air will fix my prob. Do you plan on running lights in front of the grill also? My airflow may have been more blocked than other ARBs since I retrofitted a 60 series ARB and have it tucked up closer to my grill than the ARBs made for the 80s.

It is the top that will hinder install...Apparently people have made them fit, but I guarantee you that the ARB will have to be cut to make it fit unless you space the winch back far enough from the ARB to clear where the ARB bumper bends back and where the "lips" are that a non-integrated solenoid winch tucks under. I think the really problematic side will be the left side of the winch (as you are looking at it).

I found this pic with a quick search to help out anyone researching this, I don't personally like the way it's being backspaced, but at least this shows it will fit. Not my pic, apology in advance for using without asking.
