Any tricks for removing this hose? I'm trying to do a fluid swap, as I've recently heard some "groaning" from the 80 on initial startup in the mornings. Given I've never changed the fluid, I figured it would be a good place to start.

I can't get the freakin' hose off...I slid the clamp off and was able to twist the hose but it would not budge up or down. What else am I missing?

If it's spinning, it's just the little nipple on the metal piece is stuck in a rigid groove in your 20 year old hose. I suggest Carefully using a blade to cut the outside of the hose close to but not all the way through. Then pull straight down. You don't want to score the metal - the hose is trash already.

Hmmm...guess I better source a new hose before I start cutting away!

I was just going to say that I knew where he could get new ones.

Or rockauto.com
ACDELCO 36361970 Professional 3 ft Bulk Hose $7.10 Requires ~28".
and
ACDELCO 36350030 Professional 3.5 ft Bulk Hose $12.78 Requires ~12".
Or your local parts store, it needs to be TOC, transmission oil cooler hose, fuel or water hose will not last.

Another idea, If you have a Napa close by, you can source those hoses from them. they have that hose as bulk stock, and they can cut to length what you need. Just make sure that you tell the counter guy that you need HOT OIL service hose, other wise if you get a dumb counter guy he might try giving you heater hose thinking that would work just as well. Trust me it won't!
