Hi

I have a TLC74 with a 1FZF engine. I have been trying to fix the power steering for a long time now but can't seem to get rid of the problem. It keeps making the whining noise and throws up oil from the bottle as soon as i switch off the engine. The oil that comes out is always kinda frothy.

I have changed two kits inside the pump but still have the same problem. Checked all the lines to see if there is any air going in but can't seem to anything wrong with them.

I would like to mention here that this vehicle was previously equipped with a 13BT engine which is swapped for the 1FZF. The 13BT had a regular external power steering pump running off the belts whereas the current pump attaches to the engine block and runs through the internal gears. Not sure if this makes a difference on the steering box which has remained unchanged.

Would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this problem.

Thanks
Moriarty.

There's about 5 threads started daily, regarding bleeding PS system, in the 80 section.

The method I've found that works is similar to the FSM.

Jack the front up, full resi, turn from lock to lock without engine running (hence the jacks), repeat.

Drive a bit, doing the same, fill, repeat.
