On the past two wheeling trips, two 80's blew out power steering hoses. My rig is a little newer, so I figure I am living on borrowed time in the heat of AZ. Toyota wants some big coin for the replacement hoses and makes you replace an entire assembly for the low pressure side. Napa can supply the rubber parts for about $70 whereas Toyota is about $500 (including the heat exchanger rigid section). I have stuck with OEM for all replacement parts so far, but the price difference is huge and we are talking about rubber hoses.

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket P/S hoses?

I purchased my "96" 80 from AZ in Feb and the return line started leaking right away, so I replaced it with low pressure hose from NAPA. Then two weeks later the high-pressure side blow, the dealer wanted $205 for it. I had it made at Alaska Rubber for $70 and it works fine. :D
