hi guys.

i know this has prob been covered a squillion times but bear with me. it's not that i'm too lazy to search-just that there is tooo much info.
i am restoring a 83 bj40 rhd in the uk and want to fit p /s. pics of the build to come soon as i have some time off over xmas.

but for now i have a p/s unit from a 70 (same as a 60 to all intents). i need to fit it on the front right hand frame ,junk the pit man arm and connect the old column to the new box.where i need to site the box,in order to avoid the front shock mount and get the arm to connect to the steering arm,t looks like i need to cut into the frame to mount to the inner face and then restrenghthen he frame.

is this method do-able? if so any advice, links or pikkies would be greatly appreciated

So then why not read the information contained in the Frequently Asked Questions F A Q<---- this is a link
section under Power Steering Conversions H E R E <---- this is a link
that pertains specifically to the 60 series conversion in the 40 series H E R E <---- this is a link

I am aware that you may be trying to do this in a RHD vehicle, however, the components that you will be looking for would be similar.

As mentioned above, its covered pretty well in the search feature. AS for RHD, someone has to be the first to document it, so you've got your work cutout for you...
