Is the power liftgate on the newer LC (mine is a '19) adjustable how far it opens? I've seen youtube videos with instructions for other Toyota cars, allowing you to press and hold the opener button on liftgate to reprogram. Doesn't seem to work on the LC and I can't find anything in the manual.

When the car is in the garage, the back liftgate door makes contact with the top door edge when fully extended. Pain in the ass that we can't open it with car inside, so trying to find a solution for the wife.

Thanks guys

I have same issue. Not very practical, but I just back it in when I know it needs to be opened. I am the primary driver of vehicle but know that my wife would be challenged with this solution. :)

I turned off the power lift on my 19 because it moves so slow I feel like Im wasting my life waiting for it to open. Plus the remote key fob range is so poor you cant start it opening more than a few feet away and I still end up waiting on it. With it disarmed, I raise it with my hand at the speed, velocity and height I prefer. The hydraulics are so powerful right now it practically raises itself once unlatched anyway.

Thanks guys. I did the same last night in the garage, turning off the power lift just to get stuff out. But it will still open fully and make contact if I don't hold it down so not an ideal solution. Crazy that a $30k Highlander can be adjusted but the LC cannot.

I wonder if there is a way to put some sort of a stopper on the travel of the power hinge, without damaging it. Hmm...

Curious what you mean by turn it off?

On my LX at least, you can always use it manually as if the power function never existed. Meaning if I stand at the hatch and release it with the electronic button, it doesn't try to power itself open, it just opens under hydraulic pressure just like a standard hatch. I think there's actually two electronic buttons there, and I usually grab the larger one to release and manually open.

Perhaps the newer one works differently?

Yes, on my 19 if the system is armed with the dash button the gate powers up when you squeeze the handle on the tailgate. It lowers the same way. The only other button on the tailgate is about the size of a pencil eraser and it locks the doors.
If the system is disarmed the handle on the tailgate functions strictly as a latch.

Curious when that changed, or if the LC implementation is different from the LX?

I tried it again last night when grocery shopping.

With the dash button on.

When opening the hatch manually, mine never powers open. It opens fast under hydraulic pressure like a normal hatch. I actually couldn't find a way to open it under power with the release under the hatch. The pencil eraser button there works to lock as you mentioned...something I never use.

Sorry for the tangent as this doesn't answer the OP question. I'm not aware how to set another stop limiter.

One of the things that I miss on my Highlander together with the one tap signal and rear door sunshade/curtain.

@hyboost I have the exact same question and can't seem to be able to find the answer. Did you figure out how to program the height of the liftgate on the LC?

For the 2016 it looks like it is customizable...

thanks for responding but I am still having a hard time understanding how to limit the amount the ljftgate will rise. I guess I need it explained to me like I am 5 :)
The discussion got sidelined. I don't believe there is a sublimit to height like we have on the Yukon. On the Lexus it's either fully up or fully down. We never use the sublimit anyway, though I could see if you parked in a low-overhead garage it could be useful.

There is no height adjustment on the power lift gate. Like many others I just turned the power assist off and manually open and close.
