Ive tried searching but most that I could find are related to 80's threads. Hoping to use my (unused) power antenna switch to control front winch in/out function. If someone has already done the wiring hunt and can share color wires or where they tapped for them would be greatly appreciated! The winch I have is a 5wire. This would be for a 99' Lc.

THIS IS AN AWESOME IDEA

I’ve done it on my 80 assuming the 100 is the same. You have to cut the ground lead off each position or it will short the supposing side when pushed. It is a true reversing switch positive and ground. Out the leads. You only need 3 wires. Power in and out in signal and out signal to the relay box.

My issue was due to my wireless controller saw shorting.

Used up and in. Down and out.

This. You need a meter and basic logical skills. There are two styles of winch remote wiring - 3 pin and 5 pin. From what I can tell, the 5-pin switches ground AND +12v, which is unnecessary. You can just ground all of your solenoids at once (assuming you have the older school warn H-bridge style) and convert to a 3-pin.

Do not conflate the 5-pin wiring of the antenna switch with the 5-pin wiring of the winch - convert both to a 3-pin style.

I used mine on the 80 series to control my suck-down winch to get in and out of the garage

OK, bringing this back up. The hundy is a little annoying since it just establishes continuity to ground. I'm not sure if the switch is rated to handle the 3-ish amps that are required by the solenoids in most winches, so instead, I'd recommend taking two SPST relays and mounting them inside the guts of the auto antenna relay box (behind the glove box) with a ground trigger. Then have them direct 12v to the wiring running to where the antenna motor was, take pins 3 and 6 and redirect to your winch solenoiid. Voila.
