Engines are easy... any 4.7 from any toyota will work that is not vvt great truck with bad engine is $3k max, you can check my posts i've done a couple and would do a couple more if I could find the trucks that needed engines

I would contact Camelback Toyota for new engine. Check out the parting out section in classified for used engine. IMO, $5000 is too much if you will be paying someone to fix it.

I agree that 5K is not that cheap given that it probably needs a new engine, and will likely need a lot more than just that due to poor/deferred maintenance. There will be the obvious things, and then any number of other things that rear their heads down the road.

Seller sounds like a straight-up liar... the only way you'll feel good about this later is if you really, truly grind him down on the price. And then have ponytl do your swap!

Nope but rig is parked behind a walgreens or something. Seller says hoa will not allow truck to sit infont of house. Not sure if that is bs or not.

So questionable vehicle, and shady seller. I would run from this one unless it is crazy cheap...
