I"ve been looking for a GX 470, Targeting non rust belt cars ( i'm new england) 07 -09 non sport

Initial scope was all US, less than 125k and max $14.3 with included transport costs ( trailer or fly and drive) and th timing belt and pump done
Needs were 90% clean frame of rust ( light surface) non KDSS 07-09

We focused on these years due to better nav units and the increased HP

Should I open my search to years pre 07?

Does the decreased HP ( pre 05) make a diff? are there any other benefits ( heard that there is non TPMS etc)

One of the non negotiable is: 1: No KDSS 2: cleanish frame of rust; less than 130k

If its coming from southern climate even dry, would that impact failure on certain parts faster than other?s

Apprecite any input thank you

I have an 03 and it is one of the most built (there are a few of us now) in the US. My opinion is...if you plan to go in whole hog, get whatever you can. If you build slowly, 05+ has some benefits. 03 has fewer nannies. I like no RSCA, no TPMS, I have a dipstick on my transmission, and so on. lexusgxor.com was setup as a wiki to help people outside of the GXOR group on FB.

In addition to what Dan said about the 2003, the 2003 also takes regular gas per owner's manual. I think in 2005 the manual recommends premium gas. I have a 2003.

If I was to get a GX470 now, I like the last year it was made 2009 (which is the same as a 2008). Improved radio with bluetooth capability, clear taillight lenses, chrome door handles, and I would get the KDSS/sport model with the black carpet. That's just me.
