Hey guys, new to 100 series, had a 5th gen 4R before. I am looking at a 99 LC100, car has been Colorado for a long time. I took some pictures of undercarriage, there are some salt, rust, it is priced slightly below average from what I have seen. There are some minor leak from the CV boot on passenger side. Is this a big concern? The rust a concern here? Any feedback are welcome. Thank you!

The last pic has a frame hole in the cross member. Common area for the 100 series to rot a hole in. Theres nicer 100s in Colorado.

Oh lol. I never noticed that to be honest. Just saw that, right after the coil. Thanks for pointing it out.

Seen better, seen worse. What's the price tag? Mileage? Does that rear locker work? Any service history?

Any vehicle of that age will need a decent amount of maintenance to get them into their next life. Sometime it can get a little expensive on these rigs especially if you don't do the work on your own.

Unless the previous owner has records showing all of this maintenance you will most likely need to plan on dumping some funds towards fixing that axle and just bringing it all back to life.

Seller is asking $8500. Mileage is 203,000 miles. Rear locker does work (lights went from flashing to solid, some tire screeching noise on turns). The seller had it for last 20 years 2nd owner, he does not have any records right now, 110k is when water pump, timing belt last replaced. Carfax is clean.

Yeah, I am prepared to fork up the money on maintenance, any older vehicle needs it, I am prepared for that.

Thats a decent price assuming the interior isn't trashed. Anything under $10k is going to have its needs. Just pick the needs you want it to have: mechnical, rust, or interior. That rust doesn't seem awful to me as I have seen way worse. Seems fair for the price. You can obviously find a cleaner one in CO, but it will be more like $15k.

I've got a much cleaner one ready for sale as soon as I get a replacement. Pic attached. It's the one in the middle (not the girl)

Sorry, should have included key stats: 2002, 149k, OME 2 inch lift/dif drop/just had the underside blasted and painted, we're second owners, bought it in 2004 with I think 40k, no kids, no pets, no smokers, sandstone interior, very clean. When it stops raining I'll get some pics if you're interested. PM me.

Just did the timing belt and everything that goes with that (pump, internal idlers etc) maybe less than 20k miles ago. Selling because she just bought the white one and I got permission to do the same.

Is it a thing nowadays that everyone replaces their LC 100 or LX 470 with a LC 200 or LX 570? 😄

Meh.. not horrible, but not the best either. I think you said 200k miles. I might be at $7-$8k on it
