It's a very short list! Front diff twice but not trucks fault. I replaced front axles at NTB and they neglected to install new seal. Lube drained out on long trip and front diff blew up. Put in a used replacement which failed soon enough that it was replace free of charge. Replaced alternator, replaced driver sided window control. Timing belt and water pump 3 times. U joints replaced only once and that was last year. I consider everything but the diff to be maintenance for high mileage. Sunroof quit working but I did not feel like spending 2k to fix it. I did not baby this thing by any stretch of the imagination but I did use synthetic oil from day 1.

How did it drive with that many miles? Still tight? How was the transmission?

Steering was a little loose I guess but all in all, it still felt good to me. Never any transmission issues....

I have 203k on my '99 100. No real off-roading history. Just took it over from my wife and put in EMU 3.5" lift with icon shocks. Required new control arms etc etc. because of worn bushings etc etc. Issues that I have dealt with include (1) $2.5k replacement of antilock braking system module. The ABS broke and supposedly spewed hot liquid on the chip, or so they say. (2) the infernal Toyota antenna motor broke. I replaced it and the new one is not working 3 years later. :-/ (3) rust on the upper rear tailgate near the window. I replaced it- thx ebay. (4) recently the horn goes off in the rain- replaced horn unit and connecting wires which eventually broke- still goes off in rain. (5) electric locks sometime lock the car with the keys in it. (6) wet passenger side carpet even when AC not used like during winter (just tested sunroof drains which work great. Windshield was replaced, but I dont see any leak.). Maybe OEM roof rack leaking? I dont know. (6) just replaced the starter. (7) replaced the exhaust & muffler recently. (8) bought used front seats because my bulldog ate the passenger seat- thx eBay. (9) replaced cracked tail light housing. (10) repaired some rust around the front windshield. (11) bought 18" Fuel Beast wheels, which did not fit despite the manufacturer saying they did. They nicely gave me 3/4" spacers. (12) bought 35" General AT2 to go with new wheels, and they run nicely enough so far despite warnings that they were POS. Look good enough for ATs. (13) replacing the O2 sensor this week. Someone told me that the unfixed horn problem may be related to a wet/faulty ECU-- any ideas? In any case, I want to fix these items since I am investing in suspension, snorkel, bumpers, roof rack.

Fxxxin Ignition coils dude. I changed mine about two months ago. Fxxxers are expensive. I am not sure what the dealership is telling you. It makes complete sense to change OLD oil to new more lubricating oil.

I heard as much--check the fluid-- if there are not a lot of metal fragments in the fluid (from tranny wearing out), let it be. If there are then change it. If tranny fluid is not replaced properly it can be a huuuuge problem resulting the purchase of a new tranny. This is all of course imho.

How about your coolant flush procedure and fluid(s) list. Coolant is very often a contributor.
poor coolant was how my 1986 Jeep Cherokee head gasket warped at around 100k. My coolant reservoir froze and cracked leaking all the coolant in VT one winter while I was inside at the bar.

hi. iv got a land cruiser 75 series 1hz and it has no pulling and speed doesnt go more 100kmph. i knew my engine was opend a few times and it needed a rebuild so i decided to buy a almost new 1hz engine for a toyota land cruiser 79 series. after i changed my engine the problem was still there. i changed my nozzles and serviced my injector pump fully. any idea what can be the problem?

I would suggest going to the 70-series section of IH8MUD. You're unlikely to find an answer for a 70 series diesel Land Cruiser on a high-mileage thread for a 100 series gasoline Land Cruiser.

just updated my sig. 240k. I should be at a quarter million this time next year.

I have newer cars to drive, but always prefer driving my 16 year old LC daily.

Now THAT qualifies for the high mileage thread!!!

Several pics above show a lighted D light. Hah. I believe all high mileage pics should have a failed D light as a prerequisite!

270k tonight on my '99. And my D light has been out for at least five years.
