I doubt the guy has business insurance, so I could be screwed there. Our agreement was verbal so I do not have a paper trail. I discussed the situation with him and he told me that if I was concerned he would help me pull the head . . . like I am going to trust him after this. When I picked it up he thought that by blowing it out with an air hose and shop vac I would be fine. I didn't take in pictures as I was so concerned with getting it cleaned up.
I am not mechanic but would be willing to give it a go. Will I basically need to rebuild the head or is it just a matter of replacing the head gasket? head bolts?
He used duct tape on all the gas lines and electrical wires, stuffed a sock in the hole for the distributor and mount to the header and the exhaust manifold too the engine with two bolts and a sock stuffed in the exhaust manifold. If he would have at least but a piece of duct tape over the ports I would have probably been fine. Are there any other areas I should be concerned with? I pulled the clutch cover and it was full of sand.
