I really like the look of this unit too. Do you know if android phones can audio stream with this unit without interruption? What would be your review of it?

Do people have problems with bluetooth audio streaming in general? I've never had a problem with any bluetooth enabled radios.

I just ask mainly because I use the function quite a bit and after reading various reviews on different sites, there seems to be quite of few people that have trouble with it. Or maybe I'm just a picky buyer ;)

I haven't tried audio streaming, but my wife's Samsung S5 syncs with the stereo just fine. The phone calls in and out are loud and clear. There is also a cord for a USB and an AUX that I keep curled up in the ash tray when not in use.

The stereo kicks butt. Love it! You can see all the components I installed in my build thread.

Are the reviews for that specific product? I've only had issues with my old Galaxy S5 on Bluetooth but my wife's S5 never did. My Nexus and my wife's as well does Bluetooth streaming with no problems no matter what we're streaming to.

Not that particular unit (I actually think I'm going to end up buying that one). I was referring to audio streaming in general.

I bought a used Pumpkin Android head unit from a mud member a while back. Near as I can tell it's the same thing for the most part as the Joying units and it gets good reviews on Amazon. I bench tested it when I first got it and listened to music, installed some apps, and pretty much gave it a thorough workout. Everything checked out so I installed it.

Fast forward a few months and as I'm getting into my truck, the dome light flickers and pops. I replace the fuse under the hood and it immediately pops. I take my meter and check it at the fuse, it's getting grounded somehow. I unplugged the battery since I needed to do some other work, including changing the fusible link. After that's all done, I put the fuse back in and it's fine, but no radio. I pull the head unit out and it's fuse is blown, so I change it. Instant pop again. After pulling all the wires and checking them, I find that the 12v+ wire coming out of the unit is basically grounded to the chassis of the unit itself:mad:. I have an email in with pumpkin right now, so I'll have to see what they can do. Pretty bummed because the Cruiser has been in the garage for 3 months and should be done tomorrow, but I won't be able to enjoy the stereo. It was pretty cool when it actually worked though lol.

Joying Android Radio. The radio portion is pretty week but it does a lot of other stuff. I loaded a bunch of music on a SD card and play it through an app. Reverse camera is handy. Installing a forward facing camera soon. Also has GPS but I don't really utilize that function much. Decent head unit for the price.

Watching this thread.
This tape deck - Satelite thingy isn't gonna fly much longer..... everytime I turn the damn thing goes flying. AND.....the tape makes a constant grinding noise. (so I have to keep the volume cranked up not to hear it)
Been eyeballing the Kenwood with the navigation, bluetooth, etc.... not sure I need navigation though, I can do that with my cell. pretty sure the nav adds about $200 to the price.
These wires have to go though, and SOON, I can't handle exposed wires.

For those thinking of navigation in the radio, I did not like not being able to take the unit to the tent, kitchen table, office chair ,ect,,,,,,,. I personally wont spend the extra for nav in the radio again.

I was looking to replace my factory HU and speakers on my basic '92 FJ (cloth seats, basic speakers, etc). Although there are some really good deals out there on some good looking touch screen HUs, I just felt they were too modern looking/fancy for my rig. So, I opted for the basic/simple look of the Blaupunkt New Jersey 220 with Bluetooth and love how it looks in place. Along with 4 inch RF speakers for the dash and rear doors and a punch 8 inch woofer for the back, it was all pretty much plug/play. I am not a huge audiophile and could not be happier with results.

That looks really nice! Does the bluetooth work well? Is the sound quality better than factory head unit? You might have just changed my mind about getting a touch screen

i really like the simple clean look of this. But two questions. Can the HU match the factory green lights of the dash? Also do you know if a ipod will play if plugged into the USB?

According to cructchfield, Blaupunkt New Jersey 220 - Google Search , the lighting is blueish white and you can't change it, and yes music will play through the USB

Question for all you guys. I have a old simple kenwood in the LC. It has a USB on the front. I plug my ipod in to that and it works perfectly. I just control it from the ipod.

I was shopping for a simple HU for my wife recently. I see that some units are compatible with some ipods and some not. What exactly does that mean? If it is compatible does that mean that when plugged in i can control everything through the HU? If not compatible does it mean the HU will not control the ipod and it will need to be adjusted from the ipod like i do in the LC?
