Y’all are making me miss my 460.

I’ll pic dump to reminisce…

Out in the middle of nowhere, AZ. On the western side of the Fort Apache Reservation. Not a technically difficult route, but 65 miles of dirt, and no one else in sight.

Really nice! I'd be missing that one too.

What lift did you run and what offset are those SCSs? Such a clean look. I'm thinking about getting a gamiviti for my 460. Was the noise significantly louder than without?

I bet you were starting to get a little pucker going, hoping you DON'T drop a wheel in a hole!
That's about as deep as I've seen any U.S. GX go.
Any water intrusion through the doors or anyplace else (steering rack)?

One of the wheels did drop into a hole, but it was on the drivers side and I knew where it was. I trying to keep the passenger side and airbox above water. Luckily I had been through this water crossing before with my FJ40, and my friend had just crossed it immediately before this picture so I kinda knew what to expect. Otherwise I would've walked it first.

I don't think there was any intrusion on the interior. I did find out that my transfer case actuator vent hose had come off, so quick PSA for everyone to check that crimped vent line and put a clamp on it. Whether it was already disconnected or the water crossing caused it, I don't know. Other than that no other issues. I had already extended all my other vent lines to a safer height.

Great thread! I've always done my part by liking every post of a dirty GX in the other thread but it's a good idea to reserve a space exclusively for wheelin' pics. That said, all my pics are poser shots except for the two times I've gotten stuck, so here you go.

Thanks.

I ran the Dobinsons standard lift, aka nothing fancy. Their kit was a generic 1.5-3” lift system. I believe it gave me 2.5-3” of overall lift. I also ran JBA UCAs. Nothing else. Overall I was happy with the kit and result, though it wasn’t a dramatic change from stock except a bit more stiff and thus uncomfortable and less nose dive when brakkng. Aka good enough result for price.

The wheel/tire setup was SCS Stealth 6 17x8.5 -10MM with 285/75s. They rubbed off-road, needed some decent fender lining trimming and a BMC.

The Gamiviti is a great setup, though a little expensive for what you get. Didn’t notice a wind noise.

Overall, with my more aggressive driving style with lift and rack, I got about 8 MPG as a daily driver, less when towing and/off-roading. That was 25% of the reason I switched it up. 8 MPG on premium got annoying. Not exactly a cost issue primarily, but more how often I had to fill up. 16 MPG on regular, with the Tacoma, helps be less annoying for a daily and saved some coin, though the $50k price tag takes a bit to offset, so that choice wasn’t a financial decision as a priority alone.

Man, you must have been beating on the thing regularly to get 8 MPG

I don’t feel like it, over a calm period of time I’d maybe get 10-11 MPG, so 8 wasn’t a dramatic drop.

Worth noting, I live at ~7,000 feet in elevation, I have zero highway on my daily routes and there’s lots of hills I didn’t baby it up.
Ah, that certainly explains it

This was Shafer trail in Canyonlands national park near Moab, UT. Beautiful there.
Yeah, I was thinking it wasn't local with all that red earth. Although, there are places here in So. Cal. that have that color.
