@jerryb since your our in house 100 electrical specialist, are there any variations between a '99 dash wiring harness and an '05? Would they be plug and play with each other?
I saw you mention that in another thread.
Off the top of my head... The instrument panel, those 4 connectors are going to have very different wiring.
I'm sure it's possible.
I'd get both wiring books and map the whole thing, both years.
I don't think it'd be easy but
If it was free, I'd look into it.

And I still have my mis-ordered parts that can go so I can afford to buy a stereo to finally put in!

88650-60B80 A/C amp (Supposedly works for 2005-2007. May work on earlier ones, I don't know never tried it)
83240-60222 case assembly accessory (This is the computer display that shows temp, mileage, time, etc)
M9 connector
A26 connector (I think need to check)
I also have connectors to make an adapter for an 03.
I do want some of that. I'm waiting on a payday though.

Thanks for the reply! Any idea where I can locate those wiring books?

There are most certainly wiring differences at the connector point between 99 and 05. There are differences between the 03 and the 04>
I think the most important part you want to confirm is the A/C control and what wires may be different there. The rest of the wires that run to the upper display are more or less optional.

I’ve read through this whole topic and this is great. Love this solution to modernize these rigs. I am getting my ‘03 LX470 this week... has anyone started a spreadsheet that has each year in tabs, listing all parts needed with links? That would be super helpful. I’m not super detail oriented with this kind of stuff... so I got lost reading through on what all I would need.
Can someone post or send me a list with all part #s etc for an ‘03 LX470?

Hi every one, i am in a same situation where 2003 lc120 with nav. a/c,,duel, mode and fan speed is controls are on the nav screen. For conversion do i have to take any wires from multi display ? Any compactability issues with petrol and diesel variants for same years. If any body can help that would be great

I don’t know if there is a diesel variance but I would doubt it. For 2003 pull the nav and confirm you have 4 plugs. If you do, follow my last few posts for directions.

Thanks for the replay much appreciated.

Do you already have all of the parts required to do the swap?

Did you buy Jerry's harness or did you do the wiring modifications yourself? Likely a bad connection if you followed the wire map EXACTLY for his harness. The 2003 differences are limited to connections up to the upper display, so the a/c clutch issue would be related to another connection.

need to track down the AC SIG line, make sure it's correct and the in the correct slot.
@Sre80
@Mansweater
early in the thread there are lists for 2004 LX and 03. 2003 is the odd man out with either 3 or 4 connectors on the back of the screen. That only alters the top harness. there isn't a plug and play top harness for that. Just 11? wires I think that need soldering or solder seals or whatever clip you like to use if you have the 2003 with 4 screen connectors.

The AC sig line I believe jumps one position but honestly I can't remember which one or which year, or which make. It's only happened once and I can't remember. It was a 2003 I think.

I regret not getting the complete 100, all years, both makes AC section of the wiring books from TIS.
I suggest buying your year wiring book. IT is by far the best book, most thorough thing I look at almost everyday. Anyone can read it and understand it. It is after all, a textbook for 20 year olds fixing toyotas.

If I would have known this was going to happen, making harnesses every other month, 30 some pages, filled up private message box, etc, I would have started it differently. It didn't start as something I was going to make harnesses for, that was months after the fact, I think middle of 2018.

truly we got lucky that the AC NAV AUDIO LIGHTING ANTENNA 4X4 4X2 THEFT etc etc are all mostly the same across all makes and versions.
That can't be said about a ton of other stuff.

common answers coming up, pre posted for you.
what year is your car?
what production date?
have you got all your parts?
Did you see the 2004 lists for LX and LC in the thread?

What's your battery voltage?
do you have the wiring book?
do you have techstream?
can you manually trigger the compressor clutch?
did your AC work before the surgery?

the parts cost for this now are more than double what they were
2.5 years ago. I remember my ac amp was less than 400, I think now it's over 8, if you can find it.
100% worth it if you can spend that kind of money. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I realize 32 pages of info is a very long read for some. At least read the first 20 or so pages. You're spending a few thousand dollars on stuff.
The non nav wiring is in whatever year wiring book you buy. It's all there for the asking. It's also in TIS (a more complete version with updates from the past)

here's a 4 connector nav pdf for LC 2003. And also the 2004 LX Front AC.

I remember now, the blue AC signal line, clutch wire, just goes to a different spot in the ecu, but it's in the same position on the AC amplifier. So that doesn't affect anything. (any AC amplifier# or any year car)

Thank you for the efforts you guys put into it to help others. I am sorry to hack this thread, i thought the system principle is almost same that's why i asked help, mine is a 2003 lc prado 120 with nav, i didn't have to modify any wiring to do the conversion . In nav model wires from unit run to ac amplifier ecu and connected to A21A22A23 plugs, where in non nav A21A22A23 plugs connection directly to ac amplifier control unit in the dash. What i have done is just unplugged the above three connectors from the ac ecu under glove box and transferred to dashboard and connected to new non nav ac controller which accepts the same plugs, the ac controller i used is from a 3.0 d4d, my car is 1GRFE 4.0 . Only problem is ac clutch every thing else works fine , i didn't use any wires form the nav unit . Nav unit has 4 connections, i looed in the wiring diagrams and could not work out which extra wire i need to turn the ac clutch

white-green #4A LOCK. but you have a lock sensor also. Not much else I can tell you.
follow the wire(s)

Oh I missed the “120” part and thought you had a 2003 lc100. No doubt there are differences then. As Jerry said, best to get the manual and just trace out the wires for both versions. For the a/c pretty much guaranteed the wire is there and just in the wrong position now. (You mentioned your didn’t cut or splice wires to get this far)

anyone have a list for all the parts currently needed and available for the nav delete on a 2005 LX? The original list on page 1 has some pieces that are discontinued

Curious as well, and what is it all costing these days?
