I have decided to give the repairs a shot. I wasn't able to acquire the parts vehicle as cheap as I had hoped.

Looks like I am going to be giving the repairs a shot. I was not able to acquire the parts vehicle as I had hoped to swap things to/from to build 1 vehicle. SO decided to repair mine a little at a time.
