Hey all.

As most of you well know Johnny is going to be getting a new body on his 60. He will be getting the one of mine that was in the accident. He is wanting to do this on the weekends of the 10th and 17th. Not too sure if anyone on here can but if so i am sure we could use the help.

Now Johnny does not even know i am posting this but hopefully he will not mind and we can get it totally complete by that last weekend.

This Hamon request is only to work on Johnny's truck though. Sorry but i need that tub gone and he needs a better ride.

We will be painting the new to him one white and getting as much done the first weekend and then transferring the body the second weekend. That is the plan.

Thanks.

Thank you Gentlemen.

This is all dependant on Johnny saying yes, but i would not see why not. We have already said these days are the ones we are good on for both of us.

Mike,

I have one brake cylinder here on this 40 that would not come apart at all. So, i am going to steal one of the front ones for it when i change the front out to disk.

Sound good to you ? Instead of buying something we have a few of on the front that will be coming off.

Darin, you read my mind. I was thinking about posting something up along these lines but have been crushed at work for the past couple of weeks and haven't got around to it.

The 10th is going to be all prep, getting the body painted and belly coated in bedliner. I've never painted a rig before so I don't know how difficult it will be or how many extra hands we'll need.

The 17th is going to be all wrenching, cutting / ripping / unbolting my old body from the frame and throwing the new body on. It should be a pretty quick procedure with Darin's lift:grinpimp: Either way, it would be awesome to have a couple extra sets of hands to help / watch / motivate or whatever. If people plan to come, let me know which day you plan to go and I will bring food, whatever you guys like to eat:D

Couple of extra questions for you Darin:
1. Does my new body come with a set of doors and tailgate / hatch? I don't remember if it did or not. If not, PM me with how much you want for a whole set because I need them.
2. That tintable Raptor liner that you used on your 45 - What is the texture like? Do you like it as the main body color on your truck? If you could do it again, would you use something else or paint it with regular automotive paint?
- Does anyone have suggestions as to what coating to use for the main body color? The color will be white, not budging on that

I used the Raptor bed coating on my ExPed trailer and really like it. I had mine tinted to match the FJC and it came pretty close.

I bought a cheap HVLP gun at Northern Tool with a large orifice (2.3mm), typically used for primer instead of buying the kit with their gun. I liked the texture for the trailer, would use it for an all over look also. Its not as "rough" as other bed liners and has been very durable on the trailer.

I thought it to be a quality product and would use it again for sure...

That's great to hear. UV stable and durable to abrasion from road grit?

I do not have a complete set of doors / back part. I have three of the doors and the back lower part. All the rest has been long gone. Now if you want to talk about the other stuff off of my truck we will need to chat about that. My plan was to keep that stuff for me, but we can talk about it. And come up with a price.

I have used the Napa paint or the special stuff from the paint shop i use. Both work about the same for me. Just a price difference.

I love that Raptor liner and am putting it in the bed of the wifes truck also, just thicker than normal.

Now, what are you doing with the old tub as i have no place for it here ?

We'll dice it up and throw it in the back of my new, assembled truck, and bring it to the metal recycling yard.

Your welcome to come give it a look. Its only been outside since I put it together in '09, only have 8k miles following the FJC so far, seems to have held up pretty well thus far...

I think I will do that. I have to come talk to you about the possibility of getting buying some square tube bent into 90*s. I'll PM you some time this weekend.

Darin, I can contact that wrecker and see if they're willing to part with the doors of that body if you want to keep yours, that's not a problem. My driver's front door is not usable anymore so if that's the one that's missing then I'll have to find another somewhere.

How much Raptor Liner should I get? Darin, how many bottles did you use to coat your 45?

I'm thinking 2 kits to do the exterior and one to do the belly.

I do not have the drivers door or the top hatch for that truck.

What all are you wanting to do with it ? What on the exterior are you / we doing here ? I could not remember that far back on that if i wanted to.

The belly will coated in black liner and the exterior of the truck will be coated in tinted white liner. The liner will be a more durable coating than paint and I thnk it will look good! I'm going to take a look at Jerry's trailer tomorrow to make a final judgement, but I'm sure I'll like it. That sound good to you?
