Just testing out the waters here to see if there is any interest in a group purchase for a water tank fab for the 100 that would mount in place of the spare tire. Mine is an '07, I know '06 would be the same and probably '05, but I can't be sure any further back then that? The company is Plastic-mart.com and the material would be polyethylene (safe for drinking) and produced by a rotational molded process. The drawing is very rough at this point and dimensions are approximate, upper spaces are to allow room for the charcoal canister etc., since it's illegal to relocate, at least in CA. Finished tank would span from frame to frame, be flush with frame and bumper at furthest point in back and graduate downward 3" toward the axle. Capacity would be roughly 30 gallons. My personal need is for a safe supply of drinkable water for remote camping. Their estimate at this time put the tank cost at only $500.00, but the tooling at a staggering $4,500.00 - OUCH! So, around 10 buyers could make this possible, $500. per finished tank, this would be without a filling or delivery system, that would be up to the individual and their needs. Any takers ???
