I'd pop the box off, weld up a decent frame, add a new axle, and yer out maybe $300 in materials.![]()

This is what I had in mind. I already have steel so a frame would be easy to make up. Axle and tires, piece of cake. I see the potential. Now, to just make up my mind.........

looks fine for road use, but doesnt look nearly as strong to withstand off road abuse. at least without reinforcements on the frame, body, axles, tongue..etc.
I'm running 285/75R16's on late model GM alloys which are 6.75" wide. 6" might be crowding it a bit narrow, but if you don't mind the tread having a small crown in it I think that it would work.Well I bought it. Picked it up for $350, figured I could go wrong. Im growing more and more impressed with it. It was very well built.
Anyway, starting to order some parts to fix it up. 3500lb axle, steel for a frame, paint, latches, ect.
One question though, Im going to go with a 16" rim and 285/75 tire. Is a standard 6" wide trailer rim too narrow for that size tire? I have the tires already so just need to order some wheels.
Ill get some pictures up soon.![]()
