It is a CA model 40, I have never owned a CA. model out of the 8 78's I have owned. All the 78's I have owned before had elec. ignition. Anyone ever heard of this?

No. It would have had fully electronic, retard distributor originally. Callifornia spec.

It seems pretty counter-productive to go from electronic to points, but he did also put on a GM rochester carb also
