Plastic Engine Cover

Those plastic engine covers are an invitation for mice. Happened to my wife's RX. Parked at the airport for 4 days next to a wood line away from other cars. Mice got in and made a large nest under the cover next to the coils luckily they did not chew any of the wires. When she returned home that night the mice traveled with her and came out of the car and chewed a hole through the garage door seal and trim that had just been replaced that day! Mice did not last long because the cats sleep in the garage at night.

Just out of coincidence I had some work to do on the car the next day and found the nest. No more engine covers for me.

pitch it

I was thinking about taking mine, which is laying in the corner of the shop, and turning it into a wall lamp with some lights behind it.
:grinpimp:

I like that idea. Repurpose it and use it for Garage decorations.

I'm having the same issue. Engine cover vibrating like crazy when in Drive at red light. Put it neutral it stops. I left it in drive and pulled the E-Brake, popped the hood and could make it stop by placing my hand on the cover. Im curious if it was reinstalled incorrectly? I kind of want to keep the cover. Any suggestions on how to make this stop vibrating? PS its been cold cold cold here in NC
Thanks

Another reason to remove (and store, so you feel better) the cover: Think of the money you'll save as technicians don't have to bill time to remove it. ;)

Then you can get in there and clean up the engine!

Refoam it

Just removed cover and only one of the 2 pieces of foam are there. Im assuming this is causing the vibration. Any pointers as to what type of foam I would use to replace?
