A buddy of mine and I are looking to plan a camping and 4 wheeling trip. We are going with about 20 people.

I'm looking for a nice spot for camping, fishing and wheeling. Most of the people going won't be wheeling. So I'm looking for a location that has a variety of activities.

Thanks

I camp around Ouray often and can't recall anyplace that offers all three activities and suitable for such a big group. There are a couple of small USFS campgrounds near the lower end of Yankee Boy Basin Rd that might work but there is little chance they could accommodate your group size in what is the busiest time for camping in the San Juan's.

I assume you guys would want to be around a toilet with that many people? There is a KOA but that's not really roughing it.

Ill 2nd the KOA outside of Ouray for the family.
Clean with full amenities and stuff to keep the kids busy.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll check it out. If there's something closer to Denver, that would work too. I usually am not the one planning the trips for the group. Most of the people will be going camping for the first time. I don't want it to scare them too bad.:)
Thanks

We were just there a few days ago. Stayed at the 4J+1+1 campground in Ouray. Clean restrooms and showers. Pretty quiet. And you can walk 1 block into town so location is great. Guys at the Jeep rental place on the corner on the main drag were pretty cool. Gave me some good advice on routes. If you stop by there, tell them that Dwight, the tall Lc guy, says hi.
