Just spent a couple of days in Pismo with my bride and we spent some time out on the dunes. It was really fun and never got about 68 degrees! I haven't been out on the dunes for 25 years and there are a lot of fences out there! I was able to get around the entire open area with little issue. Have we ever done a club trip there? Just to be able to drive on the beach is a blast.

Pismo is always a great time! I was just thinking that it would be a good club run for possibly October. Not as crowded as summer, the weather is usually good, and we could probably get reservations for camping on the beach. The club used to go to Surf n Turf but it has been many years. Here is a link to photos from SnT 2009 where we had a big club showing: SnT 2009

Some good news about Pismo came out today and it looks like it will not be shutting down: Friends of Oceano Dunes scored a huge victory for OHV recreation at Oceano Dunes SVRA

That is awesome. My wife and I were discussing how the local communities would suffer, really suffer, if the dunes were to be closed. 2019, OHV brought in 500 million!

My wife is against camping that doesn't have a real bathroom so we got an Arbnb about 100 yards from the Pier street entrance and the owner even had a pass for us to get on the beach. I saw many overlanding vehicles and lots of families with little kids. It is far from Glamis or Dumont but still fun. I have a few more pics but this site is very stingy with the size of the pics. One of the highlights was going to Avila, the Sycamore Mineral Hot springs; secluded, on a hill amongst the trees, feels like you are in a tree house hot spring.
