Let me look at my manual tonight, I have a 2500BPH and the antenna goes up when on and you can adjust it with the up/down rocker switch. I also added an on/off switch for the antenna so it's not always going up and down when you listen to Bluetooth.

So I took HU out today and there is a blue power antennae wore in the Metra harness but no similar wire coming from the HU. If anyone could tell me how they wired in the power antennae to get it to work with the Metra wire harness I would greatly appreciate it!!!

the metra harness converts the stock wire harness to the outputs listed in the metra manual. So it takes the whatever color the stock power wire is and feeds that to the blue one of the metra harness.

You will have to look at the hu manual to see where to attach the solid blue wire. I think it should be blue with a white stripe coming from the wire harness that came with the new head unit.

So connect the solid blue metra wire to the blue/white of the new head unit.

OK thanks this is pretty clear and I'll give it a try!

Connect them, I'm almost positive this is what I did on mine.

This worked perfectly. Connected the lone blue wire from the Metra harness into the blue/white wires and the antennae works now. It stays up all the time like was previously mentioned but I can listen to the radio in those rare instances when I feel like it. Everything is running great! So glad I did this myself and save $2-300!

Place a small rocker/button style switch that you can purchase a radio shack so you can control when the antenna goes up/down.

Yup that's a dash pad, came with the truck when I bought it. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not. It protects the dash from sun but kinda flaps when I use the defroster.

I'd hang on to it, you might like it on long trips into the sun. I get a terrible glare on the windshield from the dash.

I just found a place in Albuquerque that will make a custom one for $100 with cutouts for the various vents. I'm having it installed Thursday and will post up some pics in my thread. When the dealer put some swatches on the dash in the middle of some harsh sun it erased the reflection, he said it does the same for night time glare from headlights and reduces the heat in the summer.

So the system was working fine all day today (with the exception of the antennae) and then it suddenly went black on me about 10 minutes ago. AC and controls still work but those are black as well. Guess I blew a fuse? Won't have time to diagnose tonight but I must have messed up the wiring?

To come to think of it, I have had that same problem happen to me. It was in a friend's 07 Dodge Durango though. He had a similar Pioneer Audio system too. One day all of a sudden, the screen turned black and shut off. while we were driving!

To fix the problem, we had to use the reset button. It was this tiny button inside the stereo that required a small long object to reach. We held it for 10 seconds and, the radio rebooted itself with the stock settings. :bang:

Overall, it was a pretty annoying glitch but a small problem not related to the wiring.

Love the radio though.:) it looks cool in your 100 series!
