Let me start by saying I have searched and read through a lot of threads on this...

I am looking to install a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS head unit and a rear view camera in my recently purchased 2000 LC. I think I have a comprehensive list of what I need to do the install. I did a HU install many many moons ago on a sedan, and I know I can do this, but don't want to mess up my new baby! Please let me know if I have everything I need, any equipment suggestions appreciated!

Head Unit, Pioneer AVH-X2700BS: (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O8B7BCW/?tag=ihco-20)

Metra 70-8113 Wiring Harness to integrate the existing amp. I plan to power the factory sub with the factory amp, for now, and power the factory speakers with the HU: (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007WRQQ2/?tag=ihco-20)

Micro Bypass (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007WRQQ2/?tag=ihco-20)

Really no idea on the back up camera but this one has good reviews on Amazon: (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KH3SZTS/?tag=ihco-20)

I think that's it...Do I need any other hardware like this Metra Universal Double DIN Mounting Kit? (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030DA0L8/?tag=ihco-20)

i just added a app radio 2 and did not need a install kit to fit the radio in.

Just take the old brackets off the original radio and bolt them on to the new one. I did need new screws to get them to fit but bestbuy gave them to me. The originals were to large to fit the new headunit.

I just ordered all this kind of stuff from Amazon, went with the AVH5600, Esky backup camera, and the LX trim piece. I haven't installed any of it yet, but looks like you've got it covered (might need some butt-end connectors and zip ties to keep it clean).

I'm interested in hearing more about the micro bypass harness. I had never seen that option in all my research...

The bypass harness is to replace having to wire video capable head units to the vehicles brake system. It basically tricks the head unit by returning a signal that the vehicle is in park so you can run video (and the nav maybe, not sure) while the vehicle is in motion. I bought it mainly so I don't have to wire anything additional to the vehicle (everyone but me is motion sick in my family, so we won't be watching DVDs in the car).

The Harness links are the same 70-8113.

I'm hoping to bypass the amp altogether...there is another Harness for that I think the 8116.

I think the original poster intended to post a link for the "Parking Brake Micro Bypass." But duplicated the radio harness link.

What year is your 100? I wasn't aware there was a cheap aftermarket harness. On my 98, I cut the factory harness and added the pioneer end. Not all pioneer harnesses are the same, as a side note... Even for simple head units.

I have a 99 and thought bypassing the factory amp and using the Pioneer NEX head unit's internal amp would be best...but I'm not sure after reading up the past few days that that will be an improvement over the stock amp.

I had planned on using the 8116 and 8113 together to bypass the amp without permanently damaging the factory wiring.

Correct I was trying to post the link to the micro bypass cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A9AQPUU/?tag=ihco-20

So I gave it a go last night and was able to complete the head unit install. Almost everything works...The system sounds great, the bluetooth phone works amazing, Pandora sounds awesome...I just can't get the antennae to power up when I use the AM/FM radio. I plugged the primary antennae into the back of the head unit and I thought I wired everything correctly using the Metra harness to include the factory amp.

Any ideas?

I can take a look tonight and see how mine is wired if you need.

Is the antenna staying fully closed no matter what mode the radio is in? Mine deploys when the HU is on, it doesn't care if it's FM or CD.

Let me look at my manual tonight, I have a 2500BPH and the antenna goes up when on and you can adjust it with the up/down rocker switch. I also added an on/off switch for the antenna so it's not always going up and down when you listen to Bluetooth.

Caan't you just wire this park wire toearth?
That's what I did in my car and it works the same.

Some head units you can wire to ground and some you cannot. I'm not sure what category pioneer DVD head units fall into. I bought one with all the parts (haven't installed yet). You could always try wiring to ground first and see if it works to save the $10 or $15 the bypass costs.

So the system was working fine all day today (with the exception of the antennae) and then it suddenly went black on me about 10 minutes ago. AC and controls still work but those are black as well. Guess I blew a fuse? Won't have time to diagnose tonight but I must have messed up the wiring?
