2011 LX570. The 2 Pinch Sensors on the liftgate apparently need to be replaced. They line the left and right side of the liftgate. Part #s 84270-60042 and 84270-60022.

They are ~$599 EACH online. OUCH! Does anyone know if these can be repaired or simply removed to allow the liftgate to automatically close when you hit the button?
Thank you.

Bump, anyone figure out if you can disable the punch sensors?

Probably could. This diagnostic suggests you could just put a 1k ohm resister across the two terminals of the plug to simulate not pressed. Though I don't know if there is further logic to test for pressed when closed?
