2013 Lexus LX570. Can anyone confirm if the OEM replacement Pilkington glass is the same thickness and offers same sound deadening as the OEM Lexus glass?

Thank you for your reply. I am noticing louder cabin noise and slight wind noise over factory with the newly installed Pilkington but perhaps this is just due to install and not the glass.
I hear ya. All of my windshields on my Alaska vehicles have cracks and what look like bullet holes due to flying stones. Getting better though. Back in the 80;s and 90's, with all the gravel and construction, I was lucky to get 2 years out of windshield (and headlights).

I discuss this on another thread here somewhere. When I needed a new windshield, my insurance told me the Pilkington was an OEM equivalent, and would not pay for OEM. I had the glass shop measure the two windshields (original which was cracked and the Pilkington). I forget the exact difference, but the Pilkington was definitely thinner, and a good amount so. With this data, I convinced my insurer to provide OEM glass.
Most car companies require OEM replacements when safety equipment is involved (sensors/cameras in glass), simply because the quality control is not guaranteed with non-OEM.
Pilkington makes OEM windshields too for many cars, that does not mean their non-OEM windshields are built to the same specs.
The difference out of pocket of aftermarket vs OEM is a lot, so I understand why people go with the non-OEM windshields. My Land Cruiser was the first vehicle I have owned that made it over 100k miles on the original windshield, and that included numerous rock strikes. Most of my other rigs had 4 replacements over that span. The OEM glass is pretty good.

They got the top trim right at least. On mine completely wrong aftermarket trim was causing a loud whistle at freeway speeds. Maybe also confirm the garnish along the sides of the windshield is all straight and attached well.
In all likelihood you are dealing with what 40Man describes.. it's just not up to OEM specifications.
Parts index shows the following for a LX
75531-60050 01/2012 - 09/2013
75531-60070 11/2013 - 11/2014
For the 2015 model year on it moved to 75531-60080
The above numbers have all been superseded to the 60080 number so they are all cross compatible.
