Good news- I spoke with my neighbor the body man today and he is going to fix the roof and rear window of the pig and install the front fender!!!! The substructure up front needs to be tweaked a few inches to mount the fender and then the replacement hood needs reinstalled- but he'll take care of all that. I feel great about it.

I was really bummed about the 55 recently. Fall Crawl was here and the 55 not ready to wheel, damn....... I had taken off the 35's to put on my 88 (ex Chris Breton) truck and mounted some crappy 235's on the pig. Disheartening the way she looked. Then Cam from Iron Pig broke a long side axle friday and the only replacement I could think of was under the pig.... s0o Friday night I was in the garage pulling the rear axle apart. The poor old girl looked sad and I felt likewise. Nowe that the enighbor is going to fix the piggy I am looking forward to wheeling over the winter (hoping it's done by Thanksgiving).

I really missed having the od girl at rausch Saturday. I had thought of a lot of options and as radical as just parting her out but she's part of me- been wheeling her and driving on the street for five years now and I know her inside and out. Had aI parted her I'd have regretted it. Hopefully after she's fixed I'll keep the rubber side down and get a few more years of trail riding out of her!!!!! Gary

Glad to hear you're not gonna scrap the 55. If you were, you would have to put that horn in whatever you wheel next. Nothing brings a smile like that goofy GD horn.:D

Good to hear, Gary! Glad you'll be able to keep her running the way you want to!

You looked a little lost on Saturday at Rausch without the piggy:pig:...But you still had a box full of sinkers (donuts) for everybody and and a goodtime with the prizes you won from the raffle.

Always good to see ya out on the trails no matter what..

Or a sunroof to exit easier! ;)

glad to hear it's gettin fixed, but you should probably have it exo'd over the winter, it's only a matter of time til you and your cowboy driving style damage the poor rig again:D

Gary...Where you in California? I was watching the new Night Rider show (for about 3 seconds) and I seen an exact copy of your Piggy in the parking lot by the beach (same color and white wagon wheels):hmm:

There's always a Landcruiser in the backgroud or being driven:steer: in these shows..:beer::beer::beer:

Saw it a couple of times. He must have been out catching a wave. :D

Pig stuff

John- Exo the pig? and spoil all those pretty body lines? No way......I drive it on the street, at least back and forth to Rausch and don't want an exo. Do I need one? Now that's a different question............I hope not.

Had the old girl out today. I stopped at John Merkey's place on my way home from work today to pick up the inner front structure from a 55 they're gutting down there. Came home and pulled out my air horns- two of the five were broken when the old girl went over on her side. She looked pretty good so I ratchet strapped the hood down and went up the mountain for an hour or so. Beautiful day for some rock climbing and just plain driving in the woods. The old girl fired right up and as usual ran like a champ.

Hoping to get to work on the pig in early November, we'll see how time works out. I'd love to be able to wheel her at the November 29 club run. Stay tuned........Gary

Piggy back home

Brought the piggy home yesterday, drove her back from the Hershey area with nary a problem. It runs well on the highway, too. Got passed by a state trooper on I-78- he took a long slow look at me on his way past but didn't stop. Thanks!!!!

Looks like the guy who repaired the bodywork did exactly what i told him- nothing fancy no nioce paint, none of that crap. The side window opening has been repaired, and the roofline doesn't look too (???) bad. Doesn't leak water anyway! The front fender and hood have been replaced and he also patched up the rust holes that were in the passenger front fender and rear wheelwells. It's not even primed in places so I'll need to get artistic with the orange ($1 spray cans) and white (Rustoleum brushed on) paint again.

The good news is I can wheel tomorrow at rausch Creek, and that is a good thing. She should be painted by the club run November 29, stay tuned. Gary S

The Piggy looks good! Now just try not to flop it again.

I think I have some stickers still attached to side glass. Do you want them back?

Funny guy

Joe, you are one funny guy!!!! I remember the kids wanting the stickers on the broken glass....what I would like are some stickers from apst eyars of the CMCC. My truck had 'em from at least the last four or five eyars and also had the one pig run sticker that BK did. Anybody have any of these? Send 'em along if you do. Thanks, Gary

Gary,

I've got CMCC from 2005 - 2007 and Pig Run from '03 and '05. Send me your address and I'll get them in the mail.

Yeah, the broken glass, with stickers attached, ended up in my 55.

I don't know what they wanted them for but they are still sitting in my garage.

Maybe I'll give them back to the kids for Christmas, along with some coal.

When my 2 older kids were 12 & 6, I left rocks under the Christmas tree. The 12 yo, laughed and knew it was a joke, the 6 yo was emotionally scared for life. I still hear about it almost every Christmas and he's 23 now.
